Jake Barton is principal of Local Projects, LLC, a design firm that creates media installations for museums and public spaces. Local Projects recent work includes "Timescapes" the new three-screen introductory theater for the Museum of the City of New York, Interaction Design for StoryCorps at Grand Central Terminal and Ground Zero, and the Chronoscope for the Times Square Alliance. He is a 2006 finalist for the National Design Award for Communications from the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum, and he has two gold,one silver and one bronze medals from IDSA, as well as best interaction design from ID Magazine for 2005. Before getting his master's in interactive technology from NYU and Local Projects, he worked as an exhibit designer for seven years with Ralph Appelbaum Associates.
Stephan Knuesel is a Swiss Cinematographer, Editor and Multimedia Artist based in New York City since 1999. His film works have been shown at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, TX, the Tokyo Film Festival, Fuji Television, Danubiale in Austria, the Solothurner Filmtage, Visionfest New York and the Center of Contemporary Art Ticino/Bellinzona.
Sterling Ely is currently working on an animated 3D flythrough of the upcoming Battery Park Carousel and the hardware/software design of the JetBlue StoryBooth. He holds a BFA in digital art from Carnegie Mellon University, and has experience in animation, virtual reality, video production and web design.
Mike Bukhin has a background in computer science in philosophy and has been involved with interactive technologies for over fifteen years. He was a co-founder of Vista Associates, an early adopter of online education and was the senior engineer at QuitNet.Com, the largest online smoking cessation community in the world. He has a masters degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU's Tisch School for the Arts. He is currently working on the City of Memory project along with other psychogeography and mobile device applications.
Dan Shiffman works as a researcher, teacher, and sometimes artist at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts. His digital creations have been exhibited at the Jepson Center for the Arts, the New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Savannah College of Art and Design, the Art Directors Club of New York, Galapagos Art Space, the Hillwood Art Museum, and Tisch School for the Arts.
Anandaroop Roy is currently developing back-end GIS solutions for CityofMemory.org. Anandaroop is a software engineer who bridges cartography and technology. He has designed a large number of maps and other information design assigments for various museum and publishing clients, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Asia Society, and Yale University Press.
Greg Fraser is an interaction design student at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Zurich, Switzerland. He's interning at Local Projects between April and October 2006.
