THE CAROUSEL
Local Projects is collaborating on developing this new carousel for Battery Park based on the theme of sea life that links this new feature with the original New York Aquarium. The public will ride on sculpted, glowing sea creatures, surrounded by projected media of schools of fish, creating an immersive environmental ride. The ride's waiting area will feature interactive fish tanks, where visitors can use their shadows to interact and 'feed' digital fish.
Even before its public announcement The Battery Park Carousel was recently featured as The best of New York in the New York Post when viewed at the recent Going Public exhibition at the Architecture Center.
